Nissan Altima C1708 C1711 Data from Transmitter Not Being Received

DTC Logic Overview

Altima (C1708 – C1711)

The Altima service manual highlights that the BCM (Body Control Module) is not receiving tire pressure data from one or more transmitters. The logic involves a step-by-step confirmation procedure, including ID registration, vehicle driving, and data monitoring with CONSULT-III.

Sentra (C1708 – C1711)

The Sentra service manual, on the other hand, specifies that the data signal from each wheel transmitter cannot be detected. The DTC detection logic involves a self-diagnostic result, and the diagnosis procedure utilizes the Signal Tech II Tool.

Diagnosis and Solutions

Altima Service Manual Recommendations

Check BCM

  1. Drive for several minutes and check all tire pressures with CONSULT-III.
    • If all tire pressures display as 0 kPa, proceed to step 2.
    • If not, repair or replace the tire pressure receiver connector.

Check Tire Pressure Receiver Connector

  • Inspect for damage or loose connections.
    • If damaged or loose, repair or replace the tire pressure receiver connector.
    • If not, replace the BCM and proceed to step 3.

Perform ID Registration

  • Carry out ID registration of all transmitters.
    • If a tire cannot register ID, replace the malfunctioning transmitter.
    • If all IDs register, proceed to step 4.

Drive Vehicle

  1. Drive at a speed of 40 km/h or more for several minutes without stopping.
  2. Check all tire pressures with CONSULT-III within 15 minutes after the vehicle speed becomes 17 km/h.
    • If tire pressure displays as normal, inspection end.
    • If not, proceed to step 5.

Sentra Service Manual Recommendations

Perform Self Diagnostic Result

  1. Drive for 3 minutes at a speed of 40 km/h or more, then drive normally for 10 minutes.
  2. Stop the vehicle and perform “SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT.”
    • If DTC codes are detected, proceed to the diagnosis procedure.
    • If not, inspection end.

Check Data Monitor

  1. Drive as specified and select “AIR PRESS FL,” “AIR PRESS FR,” “AIR PRESS RR,” and “AIR PRESS RL” on “DATA MONITOR.”
    • If all tire pressures display as 0 kPa, proceed to step 2.
    • If not, proceed to step 5.

Check Remote Keyless Entry Receiver Power Circuit

  • Check voltage between the remote keyless entry receiver connector and ground.
    • If the inspection result is normal, proceed to step 3.
    • If not, repair or replace harness or connectors.

Check Remote Keyless Entry Receiver Signal Circuit

  • Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  • Disconnect BCM and remote keyless entry receiver connectors.
  • Check continuity between BCM and remote keyless entry receiver connectors.
